Taunton Cider Pork Chops

 

Pork chops are the champions of weeknight dinners. They are easy to cook, juicy and flavourful, so no wonder they’re so popular. Which is why we wanted to cook them with our Taunton Cider and the result was delicious. The recipe only has a couple of ingredients, which most of them people already have in their kitchen, so it is also speedy.

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Total: 30 minutes
Serves: 4

Ingredients:

  • 4 pork chops
  • salt & pepper (to taste)
  • drizzle of oil (we used rice oil)
  • 1 and half cups of Taunton Cider (we used Natural Dry)
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp whole grain mustard (if you want you can substitute it with horseradish, spicy brown mustard)
  • Parsley for garnish (optional)

How to prepare Pork Chops? 
If you have time take the pork chops out of the fridge and set aside to rest for up to 30 minutes. 

Instructions:

  1. Season the pork chops on both sides with salt and pepper put aside. Meanwhile heat the oil in a pan or a skillet on medium - high heat. Add the pork chops to the pan when the oil is shimmering and cook them until golden 3-4 minutes. 
  2. Remove the pork chops from the pan and set them aside to rest. 
  3. In the same pan add cider and sugar - let it cook until a thick and syrupy glaze is formed.
  4. Add in the mustard salt and pepper to season and stir for a minute. 
  5. Pour glaze over pork chops and enjoy!
