Mulled Taunton Cider

Mulled Taunton Cider

Nothing gets us in the Christmas spirit like a nice hot glass of mulled cider.  The mulled cider is so easy to make, you just need to make sure you never allow it to boil, otherwise you will cook off all the alcohol.
We have tried and tested different versions of the mulled cider, and we want to share one of the recipes with you.

  • 2 litres of Taunton Cider (Dry, Natural Dry, Medium)
  • 1 stick of cinnamon
  • 6 whole cloves
  • 4 star anise
  • grated nutmeg
  • juice from 2 large oranges (+ a few tablespoons of sugar if needed – depends which cider you use!)

  • Calvados, brandy or sloe gin

  1. Pour the cider (calvados, sloe gin, or brandy), orange juice into a large saucepan and gently heat to mull.
  2. Add the spices
  3. Keep on low hear around 20-30 minutes - NEVER allow it to boil.
  4. Serve into glass mugs and enjoy

You can reheat mulled cider, in fact, the leftover mulled cider can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
